Pretty Ink Designs creates custom invitations and announcements with an emphasis on weddings. I started designing wedding invitations as something fun to do while flying around the friendly skies as a flight attendant. I graduated with degrees in commercial and publications design from Graceland University. I have always wanted to pursue a career using these skills, but just did not know where to focus. After doing a few freelance jobs, I realized that my real passion is designing all things pretty.
When it was time for my own wedding, I wanted to create something that would “WOW” people and really let them see the creative and imaginative relationship my fiancé and I had together. Above all else, I wanted letterpress, an ancient artistry that looks beautiful on paper. It is my absolute favorite form of printing! I also wanted all the components to work together from the “save the date” to “the programs and favors” and everything in between. We were so happy with the results, that it wasn’t long before I decided to quit my job as a flight attendant and begin my next adventure.
It is my goal with Pretty Ink Designs to create an experience for the customer that captures their individuality by designing unique invitations with a high level of personal service. My invitations are simple, elegant, and modern. I draw inspiration from the everyday things. I often find a retro print or pattern, vintage wallpaper, grandma’s old china, or a flower during a jog that ends up becoming the inspiration for my next invitation.
I believe an invitation is so much more than a piece of paper, it is the first glimpse into your upcoming event. The invitation you send to friends and family announcing the important events in your life should reflect your unique personality and at Pretty Ink Designs, I strive to bring that to life on paper! It is a creative process that I find thrilling and full of possibilities!
